(A Year-End Reflection)
Grounded in gratitude as we reflect on a season of service.
πΏ Year-End Reflection
As we come to the close of the year, I wanted to pause and share a few heartfelt reflections.
As always, Iβm so grateful for this community and for the many ways you show up β with heart, care, and a willingness to connect, even during a very full season.
The holidays can bring joy and celebration, and they can also bring stress, grief, or overwhelm. However this season is showing up for you, I hope you know you're part of a community that values kindness, awareness, and care for one another.
As we wrap up the year together, I hope youβre finding moments of rest, ease, and enjoyment in whatever ways feel right for you.
With Love & Gratitude π
Grace

πDecember Highlights: Kindness in Motion
π β¨ Santa Stroll - Rotary Superheroes Unite for Good
In the spirit of Unite for Good and Rotary Superheroes, we were thrilled to see nine Rotary Clubs come together for a joyful blend of community service, fellowship, and collaboration. Alongside more than 1,900 Santas who participated in this yearβs Santa Stroll, we were proud to be part of a larger community effort that supported an incredible $205,000 raised for Mychalβs Learning Place, helping empower individuals with developmental disabilities.
District 5280 showed up powerfully β and even our pups joined in, decked out in festive Santa gear. πΎπ
Weβre so grateful to all the Rotarians, friends, and family members β human and furry β who made this moment so special. π
π₯π§Έ Sip & Stuff hosted by the Rotary Club of DTLA
Hosted by the Rotary Club of DTLA, Sip & Stuff was a beautiful example of service and fellowship coming together. The event combined connection, a heartfelt ceremony, and the joy of stuffing cuddly animals for the Pablove Foundation, bringing comfort and happiness to children affected by pediatric cancer.
π π€Ά Ms. Claus Holiday Visits β Spreading Cheer Together
As part of Santa Sleigh Routes, βMs. Clausβ helped spread holiday cheer alongside the Rotary Club of Redondo Beach and the Redondo Beach Police Department, and in collaboration with El Segundo Kiwanis and the El Segundo Police Department β bringing smiles and joy to local kiddos through shared community spirit and festive fun.
Santa (aka Mike Stark, President of the Rotary Club of Redondo Beach) helped lead the way in spreading holiday magic throughout the community.βββββββ
π Any Day of Kindness β Holiday Gift Bag Deliveries
As part of our Any Day of Kindness spirit, my mom and I had the opportunity to help deliver holiday gift bags through Beach Cities Health Districtβs Holiday Gift Bag Program β a longstanding community tradition supporting older adults and adults with disabilities across the Beach Cities.
Each year, more than 250 gift bags are assembled and delivered, filled with seasonal cheer, essential items, grocery gift cards, and heartfelt touches like holiday cards created by local youth. For many recipients who are homebound or living alone, these gift bags may be the only holiday visit they receive β a simple but powerful reminder that they are seen, remembered, and cared for.βββββββ
π§Ί Holiday Food Baskets
We had the opportunity to be part of the HawthorneβLennox Rotary Clubβs annual Holiday Food Basket program, a longstanding tradition supporting families during the holiday season. Rotarians and volunteers came together to support the shopping, assembly, and distribution of food baskets filled with fresh groceries and holiday staples.
The effort was made even more meaningful through partnership with the Manhattan Beach Rotary Club β a wonderful example of clubs showing up together to care for their community during a very full season.
π Any Day of Kindness β Share the Moments
Kindness shows up in many forms. If youβd like to share a photo or story from an Any Day of Kindness moment, weβd love to celebrate and highlight it within our community. π
πΏ Kindness Corner
β¨ Small moments of kindness β given or received β are often what carry us through.
π€ Thank you for being part of a community rooted in care, connection, and showing up for one another.
πΏ As we step into the new year, may we continue to lead with kindness β for others and ourselves.
Wishing you a gentle close to the year.
Happy Holidays β and we look forward to connecting again in the New Year. π
