Speaker: Adam Nemer is an author, former executive at Kaiser Permanente, and founder of Simple Mental Health. For nearly 20 years, he led at KP while silently struggling with severe, yet undiagnosed depression and anxiety. His life—and leadership— changed when a compassionate colleague encouraged him to seek help, showing the profound impact leaders can have on their teams’ Well-being. Description: Mental health touches each workplace, family, and community — often in ways we don’t see. As business owners, professionals, civic leaders, volunteers, friends, and neighbors, Rotarians are uniquely positioned to help reduce stigma, normalize conversations about mental health, and spread the value of mental health literacy across the communities they serve.  Participants will learn why mental health literacy matters, how myths and stigma keep people from seeking help, and how community leaders can help create environments where people feel safer talking about mental health and accessing support. They will leave with one practical first step they can take to begin spreading mental health literacy in the places where they live, lead, work, and serve.

Meirav ("Mei") Zur has over 22 years of professional experience as an international performing artist, producer, facilitator, and humorist, and has an equal amount of personal experience creating meaningful friendships in new places. This interactive presentation embodies a seamless blend of her background, craft, and insights, while immersing the audience in a relatable and perceptive exploration of human connection.
